Comb Ridge Classic Half Marathon & 10k
The Comb Ridge Classic offers runners the chance to have a hands-on experience of geological history while running a challenging route. Runners will experience the sharp ridges, breathtaking views, and flat wash of the Ridge. Comb Ridge was the home to Ancestral Puebloans. It was traversed by Mormon Pioneers in their efforts to settle southern Utah. With few roads or hiking trails, the Comb Ridge rises up to 900 feet above the flat wash. The ridge is a geological monocline, a single fold of earth created almost 65 million years ago by slippage of the tectonic plates deep below the Earth's surface.

Half Marathon Trail Run ($75) - Runners will start in a shallow wash, climb up the ridge, traverse back down the steep ridge face, and end in the flat wash below the ridge. This is a fun and challenging race, so come prepared! Start: 9:00 am

10K Fun Run ($35) - Runners will have a fun run along a dirt road at the bottom of the Comb Ridge. This race is open to all level runners. Start: 9:00 am

Packet Pick Up:

Saturday, May 13, 2017
8:00 am to 9:00 am
Comb Wash Campground (run site)
We will not have a packet pick up prior to the run day.

Run Rules: Come with a positive attitude! Runners are expected to maintain appropriate etiquette on the trail and throughout the event. Because of the geological and archeological treasures along the route, all runners should take care to stay on designated trails. Permitting regulations require us to report any runner who intentionally leaves the route - so please do your best to stay on the designated route.

Parking and Staging Location: All runners should park in the Comb Wash Campground - just south of Highway 95 at the beginning of San Juan Country Road 235.

From Blanding Utah, take Highway 95 West 14.1 miles. Turn left onto Comb Wash Road (dirt road).

All runs will end at the Comb Wash Campground.

Timp Trail Marathon
Get off your asphalt, and come run with us in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains!

Come run with us May 20th 2017 for the Timp Trail Marathon and Half, and September 23rd 2017, for the Timp Trail Elk Half Marathon & 10K. It’s a beautiful time of year to run in the Wasatch Mountains. If you have ran our races before, you can expect the same quality race with:

great aid stations and volunteers
beautiful challenging course
fun finish line with Marc’s famous chili and fixings
cool finisher medals
high quality tech race shirts
awards to top overall and overall age group winner

This is a very challenging marathon course. If you run a 3:30 marathon expect to finish this race between 5-6 hours. There is 5,883 feet of elevation gain on Marathon course. The course is made up of 99.9% mountain trail and fire break roads. The only asphalt that your trail shoes will touch is a few crossing as you traverse northbound at the lower elevations. There are sections of accent and decent that will be technical but extremely scenic. As in the past you may experience snow, rain, mud, potential stream crossings but without a doubt - rocks. Although the distance is that of a traditional marathon, it is anything but traditional. There will not be porta-johns, mile markers, spectators, or volunteers at every turn showing you which way to go. You should treat this race course like an ultra-distance race. The course will be marked with orange and blue flagging. Continuous orange flagging will indicate the correct direction. A combination of orange and blue flagging will indicate an upcoming turn. The blue flagging will appear on the same side of the trail as the turn will occur. The course will be marked well but you must pay attention to the flagging.
