2017 Running Day 5K (VIRTUAL RACE)
Did you know that National Running Day is June 7, 2017!?! This is one day of the year where you can re-commit to being a runner, continue running, or choose to become a runner for the first time.

“If you run, you are a runner. It doesn’t matter how fast or how far. It doesn’t matter if today is your first day or if you’ve been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run.” –John Bingham

To celebrate we are hosting a virtual RUNNER’S DAY 5K race, where you can choose to run a 5K to honor this special day and get a beautiful I LOVE RUNNING medal! We only have 500 medals available, so once they’re gone, they’re gone! Order NOW!

Along with celebrating RUNNING, we will also be donating at least 15% of every registration to Ainsley’s Angels, an incredible organization which “aims to build awareness about America’s special needs community through inclusion in all aspects of life.” This is definitely an organization that you must check out and see how you can get involved!

Lunatic Triathlon
Come and join us for one of the most truly unique and fun races anywhere! For the last five years we have offered an Individual and Relay Team nighttime, reverse order, sprint triathlon. We start off with a 5k run, followed by a 9 mile bike and finished up with a 300 yard swim in the outdoor pool.
But we didn’t just stop there, we wanted to know what would make our event better, so we asked... and you told us. So last year we offered our first ever Kid's Triathlon and it was amazing getting to watch over 80 children ages 6 through 11 compete in a 50 yard swim, 1 mile bike and 1/2 mile run triathlon. This year we will once again offer the Kid's triathlon, although you will not be able to use active.com to register your child for it, instead please email us and we will email you the form for your child.
Because we want our event to just keep getting better and better we will also add in a few new courses this year, including a run/bike duathlon, a unicycle triathlon and an off road triathlon option. In addition to new courses we will also make a change to our bike course for the triathlon course. Instead of the 9 mile course we have had previously we will be upping the distance to a 12 mile course this year.

Millie’s Princess Foundation Run
We are thrilled to announce this year’s Millie’s Princess Run at Daybreak on June 17, 2017. We hope you will join us for a day of family friendly fun! As in year’s past, we will have the 2 and 5 K run, bounce houses, face painting, water walkers, a climbing wall, food trucks and much more. This year’s royalty are two amazing cancer fighters- Mazy and Simon.

Mazy is two and a half years old. She was diagnosed with High Risk B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in February of this year. Mazy has three brothers- Carver, Blaze and Crew. Her little brother Crew was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome in November of last year. He only lived thirteen days, but made a huge impact on everyone who knew him. Mazy’s family has had a rough year. We are looking forward to showing them how loved and supported they are at this year’s run.

In January of this year, four year old Simon started complaining of leg pain. His family was initially told that he had arthritis, but further testing showed a tumor in his abdomen. Simon was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma in February of 2017. He will have multiple rounds of chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumor, and then more chemotherapy. Simon’s little sister, Meg has a rare metabolic disease called Ornathine Transcarbamylase Deficiency. We are looking forward to having him as our prince this year and supporting their family.

Father's Day 5K (VIRTUAL)
Join us for our fourth annual FATHER’S DAY 5K virtual race! It’s time to celebrate your World’s Best Dad! We will also be donating at least 15% of each registration to Team Hoyt, which works to build the individual character, confidence and self-esteem of America’s disabled and physically challenged young people through inclusion in all facets of daily life.In the spring of 1977, Rick Hoyt told his father, Dick Hoyt, that he wanted to participate in a 5-mile benefit run for a lacrosse player who had been paralyzed in an accident. Far from being a long-distance runner, Dick agreed to push Rick in his wheelchair and they finished all 5 miles, coming in next to last. That night, Rick told his father, “Dad, when I’m running, it feels like I’m not handicapped.”

Daybreak Triathlon 2017
In 2011 we introduced a new point-to-point swim course and our athletes loved it! The Daybreak Tri offers triathletes an epic urban open water swim close to home. The swim takes place in Oquirrh Lake at Daybreak and offers a fast swim-to-bike transition. The bike course starts in Daybreak and goes past the Kennecott Copper mine and back. The run will take place inside of Daybreak on the fantastic trail systems that circles the lake. This race completely sold out in it\'s first year, 2009, and became an instant classic in the Utah Triathlon scene.
