Path to Opioid Prevention 5k and Half Marathon
The Path to Opioid Prevention begins with awareness of the problem.

Utah has been hard hit by the opioid epidemic. In fact, opioid overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in the state, higher than automobile crashes - and Utah ranks 5th in the nation for drug overdose deaths.

More than 7,000 new opioid prescriptions filled daily in Utah -- we want to bring this to everybody's attention so we can all work together to change this.

We are racing to raise awareness to the opioid crisis in Utah and invite you to join us!

The 5K and half marathon will cut through the beautiful hills of four cities, Riverdale, South Ogden, Uintah and Washington Terrace on the Weber Pathways trail. The trail has much foliage to help protect runners from the sun!

Participants for both races will meet at the Riverdale City Offices, and then the half marathon runners will be bussed to the start of their race at 6660 S 1775 E, Ogden and the 5K will start at the Riverdale City Offices.

Adding to the fun of the race and promoting our opioid awareness message, there will be information booths, participant bags, free treats, and services such as massages and yoga.

The registration fee for the 5k: $15.00
The registration fee for the half marathon: $25.00
Addition Race Information
This run is being held on a Weber Pathways trail. If you would like to see someone along the race (half marathoners) we suggest you watch for them at the Riverdale City Offices, you will be able to see them there, and again at the south end of Fort Buenaventura.

If you haven't been on the Weber trails, you are in for a treat. There are 55 trails in Weber for people to explore, and our intent is to introduce new people to the trails so they can come back to enjoy them on their own in the future - a healthy habit!

While people are waiting for their racer to finish, they can browse the booths to learn more about opioid alternatives. McKay Dee Hospital is providing free massages for the racers as well as ice therapy and yoga!

All participants will get a t-shirt, the first 100 finishers will receive a finisher medal, the first three to cross the line in each age category (male and female) will receive a place trophy.

Timing chips provided by GOAL Foundation.

Mighty Miracle Max 5k - 2018
What

This is a memorial 5k race and a Fun Run for Mighty Miracle Max!

When

The first Saturday of September.

This year the race will be held on September 1, 2018, at 9:00 am.

Who

Anyone who wants to participate and help us celebrate our son's life.

Where

Eagle Mountain, Utah

Why

Our sweet little boy was only here for a 6 short months, however, in that time he touched many lives and showed us many miracles. He was born with an ASVD heart defect. He underwent open heart surgery at only 7 days old. It was a struggle to recover, but after 30 days of being in the CICU at Primary Children's Hospital, we were able to come home. It spent the next 4 months trying to gain weight and grow in preparation for his 2nd open heart surgery. In February, he was admitted back into the hospital for a failure to thrive. While there he caught a common cold, which extended his stay. Unfortunately, he ended up with a blood clot in his Arota, which prevented blood from flowing to the bottom portion of his body. He was so small, that surgery was not an option. He returned home to Our Heavenly Father around 2'oclock in the morning. Since then we have worked hard at continuing to share the miracles of life with others. To remind them to cherish their children, taking time for one more hug, one more story, one more kiss.

Come run with us to remember Max, to put another 5k on your belt, or just close out summer.
