5th Annual Fallen Officers Memorial 5k Run/Walk
Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) Utah Chapter and I RUN UTAH are excited to announce the 5th Annual Fallen Officers Memorial 5k Run/Walk. This event provides the community an opportunity to show their support to our law enforcement officers, and the families and coworkers of officers killed in the line of duty.

Proceeds from the event will support the families and co-workers of fallen officers throughout the state of Utah.

The Fallen Officers Memorial Run was started by the Johnson family, family of Sgt Derek Johnson killed in the line of duty in September 2013. They wanted to give back to the organizations that supported them, and continue to do so.

C.O.P.S. is very grateful to the Johnson family, and all they have done to continue to show their support to the law enforcement community, and those affected by line of duty deaths.

The Cougar Run
A 5K road race has been a part of BYU Homecoming for more than 30 years. In 2003, the BYU Track and Field program assumed responsibility for the race, and it became the Cougar Run. The 2017 Cougar Run will be held on October 7, at the Clarence Robison Track and Field Complex on Canyon Road south of Lavell Edwards Stadium.

Come join us for a great activity. We start the event at 8:45 a.m. with the Kid's races on BYU's world-class track! Follow that with the 5K Run along the Homecoming Parade Route in front of all of the parade route spectators. Cap it off with our traditional blue pancakes at the track after the race! You don't want to miss it!

Kid's Races
We have 4 races each for boys and girls. Children ages 1-4 compete in a 200 meter run, ages 5-6 compete in a 400 meter run, ages 7-9 compete in a 800 meter run, and ages 10-12 compete in a one mile run. Members of the BYU Track team will encourage and escort the kids in the races.

5K Run
At 9:45 a.m. is the 5K Run. The course starts just north of the BYU Track on University Parkway going east and follows the Homecoming Parade Route as it loops campus and finishes on the track in front of the main stands. Prepare to be greeted by the smell of pancakes as our traditional blue pancakes are prepared and served by BYU track and field team members and alumni. A great time is always had by all!
